Detailed Journey

Day 1

Kathmandu - Lhasa

Take a flight from Kathmandu (Nepal) and reach Lhasa where our representative will meet and take you from Gongaar Airport to your hotel. Interact with hotel staff, other guests and our representative to get a feel of the place. Go out on a walk if you are interested. The day is at leisure for acclimatization to the altitude.

Day 2

Lhasa

Steeped in cultural history Lhasa is a wonderful city to understand how Buddhism came to be introduced in Tibet and how it went on to develop its own fierce character. The day again is dedicated to acclimatization. Use it to understand Tibet’s moorings.

Day 3

Lhasa

Spend the best part of the day immersed in the different architectural delights of Lhasa. Get overawed at thePotala Palace, the former residence of the Dalai Lamas, which is considered to be one the world’s greatest wonders. You will also visit Jokhang temple and Barkhor bazaar.

Day 4

Lhasa - Shigatse

Drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. In the afternoon, visit the TashiLhumpo Monastery, the largest & most magnificent amongst all Monasteries in Tibet. It contains the world’s largest 80 feet high brass statue of Maitreya Buddha, TashiLhumpo is also the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama.

Day 5

Shigatse – Lhatse – Saga

Start in the morning for a drive to Lhatse. The road trip will culminate at  from where Saga. During the course of the day you will also go on a boat ride in the sacred lake of Pai-Kutso and the legendary river Brahmaputra. Located on the south line of Nagri  Saga is famous for wild animals.

Day 6

Saga–Lake Mansarovar

Hit the road for one of the most breathtaking experiences of the lifetime. Lake Manasarovar has been the subject of so many literary novels, travelogues and a dream destination for pilgrimage. A massive expanse of water you can also catch the sight of the holey Mount Kailasha, the abode of Hindu God Shiva.

Day 7

Lake Mansarovar – Sershong - Darchen

Excursion in the morning to Tarboche (Sershong) from where you will leave for the famous Kora of the Mt. Kailash. Also visit a venerated cemetery called DrachomNgagyeDurtro, blessed by Guru Rinpoche and the first explorer of Kailash, Gotshangpa. At the end of the day drive back to Darchen for overnight stay.

Day 8

Darchen – Lake Mansarovar - Saga

Reach Saga on the same highway that took you to Darchen. Relive the memories of the drive. Stop often for taking photos or just to behold the majestic sight. Lose yourself. Find yourself. Let the stunning vista work its wonders upon you.

Day 9

Saga – Gyantse

Drive after breakfast to Gyantse.Lying on a historic trade route between India and Tibet, it has for long been a crucial link for traders and pilgrims journeying across the Himalayan plateau. Visit Gyantse’s greatest sight the GyantseKumbum, the largest chorten in Tibet and one of its architectural wonders..

Day 10

Gyantse Lhasa

Your last day on roads. Drive back to Lhasa. Have lots of fun on the way. You can ask your guide to tell the stories of the Himalayan legends. Spend the time to understand Tibet’s unique Tantra form of Buddhism. Or anything you want to know. Rest of the day is at leisure..

Day 11

Lhasa

Your last day in Lhasa. Entirely for you to spend it the way you want to. Shop for the souvenirs. Roam in its market. Befriend people. Listen to their stories. Make friends. Make memories. Collect experiences you would love to talk about back home.

Day 12

Lhasa

A lazy morning. A relaxing breakfast later bid adieu to Lhasa. Our representative will drop you off at the Lhasa airport where you will board flight to Kathmandu for the eventual journey back home. Surely it has been a trip you will long remember.
