Our representative will pick you up at the Delhi Airport and take you to your hotel. On the way he’ll brief you about your tour, explains some cultural and social etiquettes, and answers questions that you might have.
A guided tour of Old and New Delhi. We’ll visit Jama Masjid and take a rickshaw tour through the bustling alleys of Chandni Chowk. Afterwards we’ll go to Humayun’s tomb, a UNESCO Site.
Delhi - Mandawa
Head into rural Rajasthan to explore the Shekawati region, an area famous for its painted fresco painted havelis. Much of your stay will involve visits to various abandoned mansions where your guide will tell you sagas the mysterious Marwari traders.
Mandawa – Bikaner
The day begins with another tour of the fresco painted mansions, and then we’ll learn about the history of the silk trade and the opportunities that arose when the English colonized the country. Later we’ll embark on a picturesque drive to city of Bikaner.
Visit the once impenetrable fortress of Bikaner, Fort Junagarh. Feel history come to life in this charming medieval city. Go bargain hunting for handicrafts in the busting bazaars. And then end the day with a relaxing trip to Gajner Lake .
Bikaner - Jaisalmer
Drive to Jaisalmer, one of India’s most majestic cities. We’ll arrive in the evening and visit Gadisar lake, hopefully in time for a beautiful sunset over the Thar Desert. The view from your hotel, Vyas Chhatri, is simply spellbinding.
Start your day with a guided tour of Jaisalmer Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), then explore the narrow, mysterious alleyways surrounding it after. Later we’ll visit BadaBagh, Patwon Ki Haveli, and the Jain Temple (another UNESCO Site). Then we’ll spend the evening basking in the serenity of Gadsisar lake.
Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Leave Jaisalmer and head to Jodhpur after a brief stay at the Osian desert camp. Jodhpur is one of Rajasthan’s most stunning cities, and is renown for its towering fort, its palace museum, and scenic views from atop its ancient monuments. In the evening you’ll be free to explore the exotic local bazaars.
Start your day with a visit to the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, which offers a spectacular view of the city from the top of the hill it rests on. Afterwards we’ll visit the Jaswant Thada, followed by a trip to a traditional Bishnoi village.
Today we’ll drive through the scenic Aravalli Hills to Udaipur. En-route we’ll visit Ranakpur, a village renown for its intricately carved Jain temples. Upon arriving in Udaipur, we’ll take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, an artificial fresh water lake.
Known for its huge bodies of water, Udaipur is often called the city of lakes. We’ll start the day with a tour of the majestic City Palace on the banks of Lake Pichola. Then we’ll visit the beautiful Sahelyonki Bari gardens.
Drive to Bundi, home of some of the finest of Rajput architecture in the region. On the way we’ll take a slight detour to visit Chittorgarh (a UNESCO Site) and visit its ancient fort. Upon arrival in Bundi we’ll go on a tour of the epic royal palace.
Bundi - Jaipur
Leave for the pink city of Jaipur. The capital of the state of Rajasthan, it has a tumultuous past and is known for its many impressive monuments, such as its forts, palaces, observatories, and cenotaphs. An evening walk through the old bazaar highlights the city’s talented cooks and skilled jewellers.
Move on to a guided tour of Jaipur, which starts in the magnificent Amber Fort, where you can ride an elephant through this historic monument. Later on discover the bygone charm of the City Palace and gaze upon the stars in the Astronomical Observatory.
Jaipur - Agra
Leave by road for Agra. On the way visit Fatepur Sikri (a UNESCO Heritage site), a city destined to be the capital and planned on a grand scale, but abandoned shortly afterwards due to a lack of water. End the day with a romantic sunset view of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River at Mehtab Bagh.
Bask in the glory of the Taj Mahal at sunrise and then listen to the epic tales of the Mughals at the Red Fort. Then we’ll visit Itimadud Daulah Tomb and the famous Sheros café.
Agra - Delhi
The bittersweet day you’ll leave India. From Agra we’ll take a flight to Delhi, where you’ll catch your flight home, and reminisce about the many magical moments you experienced over the last two weeks.
