Diu is one of the finest cities in India. A potpourri of colonial and local Gujarati architecture, bustling bazaars, and food to die for, you’re going to have a blast here.
Diu - SasanGir National Park
Explore the narrow lanes of Diu and feel like you’re going back in time, as you experience a world that feels like it’s from another era. Mingle with the friendly inhabitants of the old town, and learn what it’s like to be in their shoes. In the evening we’ll visit the Portuguese fort and then leave for Sasan Gir National Park.
Sasan Gir National Park
The home of the endangered Asiatic Lion, Sasan Gir is a home truly befitting the King of the Jungle. We’ll take you on a private safari to try and sneak a peek at these majestic creatures through this absolutely stunning slice of nature.
SasanGir National Park - Velavadar National Park
From one jungle to the next. We’ll make our way to Velavadar National Park today, and on the way stop for a visit to the serene Jain temples of Palitana. The ancient architecture is equal parts marvelous and mysterious, and embodies the spirit of India.
Velavadar National Park
While Velavadar may not be able to boast that it is home to lions, it is still an incredible experience. It’s amazing to see how starkly landscapes can contrast in such close geographic proximity, and variety is the spice of life. We’ll take another private safari through this peaceful park to allow you to experience it as intimately as possible.
Velavadar National Park - Dasada
Today we’ll head to the Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, a sparkling vista of vivacious colors, and home to over 200 species of migratory birds seeking to escape the biting cold and give birth to new offspring. We’re making sure you get to see the whole gamut of Gujarat wilderness.
We’ll start our early morning safari before the sunrise and move towards the edge of the Little Rann of Kutch, a vast expanse of wilderness famous for the rare Asiatic Wild Donkey. Watching them roam through this seemingly never-ending landscape will is a sight to behold.
Dasada – Ahmedabad
Leave for Ahmedabad. En route we’ll visit the Rani Ki Vav in Patan, one of the most intricate step wells in India. From there we’ll head to Modhera to marvel at the Sun Temple and then end the day with a jeep safari.
Take a leisurely tour of the architectural splendors of this ancient trading hub (an official UNESCO Heritage City), known for its magnificent mosques and temples. The day will also include visits to a traditional bazaar, Mahatma Gandhi’s ancestral house, and the Calico Museum.
The journey comes to an end. After driving to Mumbai, it will finally be time to catch your flight home. Reminisce about the many magical moments you experienced over the last two weeks, and look forward to your next trip back to Mother India.
