Day 1

Arrive in Mumbai

Our representative will pick you up at the Mumbai airport and get you settled at your hotel. Then we’ll go on an excursion to Elephanta Island (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in the afternoon. A small but fascinating island just off the coast in the Arabian Sea, its temples and monuments date all the way back to the 8th century.

Day 2


Start your morning with a tour of Colaba, a journey that will take you back to the time of the British Raj.  Feel the spirit of Mumbai through visiting some of its most famous places –  Marine Drive, The Gateway of India, and the Dhobi Ghat.

Day 3


Today we’ll fly to Aurangabad, and after checking into your hotel we’ll go out on a sightseeing tour that includes the Ellora Caves (a UNESCO Site), Daulatabad Fort, Bibika Maqbara and Aurangzeb`s tomb.

Day 4


On to Burhanpur, a historic town where Mumtaz Mahal (of Taj Mahal fame) spent his final years. On the way we’ll visit the ancient Buddhist retreat in the Ajanta Caves (a UNESCO Site), a place that truly embodies India’s cultural and spiritual identity.

Day 5


Explore Burhanpur and imagine yourself living through the epic love story of Shahjahan and Mumtaz Mahal. We’ll visit the first grave of the Lady of the Taj, before she was taken to the Taj Mahal. After we’ll drive to Omkareshwar, one of the holiest Hindu cities. Finally we’ll make our way to Maheshwar, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 6


The still waters of the expansive Narmada River, considered by many to be even holier than the Ganges, make for a captivating sight. We’ll then visit the towering Maheshwar Fort, situated right next to the river. The city is also famous for its beautiful saris, so we’ll of course make time for some shopping.

Day 7


Today we’ll drive to Mandu, which is considered to be one of India’s most romantic medieval forts. Known for its architecture, Mandu is a beautiful place to take a leisurely stroll through. Then we’ll spend the evening relaxing in the hotel, where your guide will regale you with the love story of Queen Rupmati and King Baz Bahadur.

Day 8


A visit to the amazing Jahaz and Hidola Mahal is the perfect way to start the day. Then wander through the precincts of the Jama Masjid, Ashrafi Mahal, Rani Rupmati pavilion and the Haathi Mahal.

Day 9


Take a scenic drive to Ujjain, one of the most sacred Hindu cities in the country. Home to one India’s most famous bards, Kalidasa, the city has long drawn devout worshippers thanks to the temple of Kalbhairav, a mystical dedication to Lord Shiva.

Day 10

Ujjain – Bhopal

A mesmerizing city of lakes, Bhopal is beautifully nestled between lush plateaus. Famous for its rich culture and heritage, your tour of the city will take you to the Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Tajul Masjid and Shaukat Mahal.

Day 11


Drive to Sanchi to explore India’s fascinating Buddhist heritage, where numerous ancient Stupas contain relics of the Buddha and other spiritual figures. Then we’ll visit the Udaigiri caves, which date all the way back to 600 BC. Then we’ll return to Bhopal for a relaxing evening.

Day 12


Become an explorer when we visit Bhimbetka (UNESCO). With its rocky terrain, dense forest and craggy cliffs, you’ll feel the thrill of adventure as you explore the 600+ rock shelters that date back to the Neolithic age. The ancient rock art tells the story of a long lost past when man still lived in caves.

Day 13

Bhopal –Mumbai

The journey comes to an end. After flying to Mumbai, it will finally be time to catch your flight home. Reminisce about the many magical moments you experienced over the last two weeks, and look forward to your next trip back to Mother India.
