Day 1
Colombo - Kandy
Arrive in Colombo where our representative will meet you and take you after a scenic drive to Kandy will help you complete the check in formalities. Spend the rest of day relishing the ambience while soaking in the spirit of Sri Lanka.
Day 2
Kandy
Kandy, located centrally along hills and overlooks a scenic vista of sprawling tea plantation. Visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens after which go around the holy site of the Temple of Sacred Tooth, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 3
Kandy – Sigiriya
Drive to spectacular Sigiriya. Except for the visit to caves in Dambulla on the way the day does not involve much of sightseeing. Make use of your time interacting with your guide to know the various facets of Sri Lankan life and hits history.
Day 4
Sigiriya
The day begins with a visit to one of the most majestic outcrop, the location of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.As you climb to the top an exhilarating experience will fill your entire being. Later go on an excursion to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
Day 5
Sigiriya – Anuradhapura
Leave Sigiriya for Anuradhapura. The city was once the capital of the country for over 1000 years and is included in the coveted list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your visit will take you to the ancient sites, which mark the twin towns of Anuradhapura and Mihintale.
Day 6
Anuradhapura
Get the feel of the jungle of Wilpattu National Park. You will travel by jeep to see wild elephants, the local birdlife etc. and other wild animals apart from its unique vegetation. Time to lose yourself in the rich fauna.
Day 7
Anuradhapura – Jaffna
Drive to the extreme north of the country to the city that saw a long period of guerilla warfare. Today not much remains of its turbulent past. Instead what awaits you here is a landscape known for its beauty and mesmerizing sight.
Day 8
Jaffna
The entire day dedicated to Jaffna. Perhaps you will be the only tourist around and as a result it will offer you a pristine view of the area. Visit the Clock tower and while you witness history in its ruins that whisper remarkable tales.
Day 9
Jaffna
Another day in Jaffna. Go down the coastal route. With antiquity dating back to more than 3000 years ago, Jaffna has shown a remarkable resilience and had emerged as a major centre of power in different centuries.
Day 10
Jaffna – Trincomalee
From Jaffna take the scenic route to the harbour city of Trincomalee. The day is dedicated entirely to the leisurely pursuits. Unwind on its beautiful beaches, and as the evening spreads visit Seruwawila Rajamaha Viharaya, one of the holiest Buddhist monuments in Sri Lanka.
Day 11
Mararikulam
Day at leisure to explore or just relax on the beach. Amongst the oldest cities of Sri Lanka, Trincomalee has a past that that’s both Buddhist as well as Hindu. But it was its natural harbor that turned out to be its highlight, bringing both traders as well as invaders.
Day 12
Mararikulam - Cochin
Reach Colombo. An interesting day awaits you that will take you to the city’s colonial past. After a customary visit to the fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison spend evening exploring one of Colombo’s markets.
Day 13
Colombo
As you leave Galle for Colombo for your flight back home let your mind fathom what made Galle an important trading centre and as a staging post for European trading companies. It surely has been an amazing trip.
