Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Delhi
Arrive into Delhi. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon explore the legacy and heritage of Mughal Delhi, pulsing with energy and color.
Day 2
Delhi-Amritsar
An early start of the day with your 1st ever Indian rail experience, board your train to Amritsar. On arrival explore the Harmandir Sahib temple (popularly known as Golden Temple) and Jallianwala Bagh.
Day 3
Amritsar
Enjoy a guided tour of the city, before heading for Wagah border. Wagah border is known for its super charged evening parade on India and Pakistan border. Visit the incredible Golden Temple, followed by experiencing the `Putting to bed` ceremony this evening, magical for sure!
Day 4
Amritsar-Dharamsala
It is highly recommended to visit Golden Temple for the morning prayers which can be a life changing experience for many. En-route Dharmsala, visit the 8th century Brijeshwar Temple.
Day 5
Dharamsala & McLoed Ganj
From your hotel you will hear the chants coming from the Dalai Lama’s monastery. Later visit Norbulingka Institute which was created to preserve Tibetan culture in exile. In the area you will notice the Tibetan population and all the wonderful goods they have brought from Tibet.
Day 6
Dharamsala & McLoed Ganj
Today will be at leisure to explore the city on your own.
Day 7
Dharamsala-Pragpur
After breakfast you head to the heritage village of Pragpur. It is interesting to wander through the streets, meet the people and enjoy the peace. The hotel gardens are also beautiful to relax in.
Day 8
Pragpur-Shimla
You have a 5-6 hour journey to Shimla where you will be taken to your hotel. Upon arrival, enjoy the views!
Day 9
Shimla
Today you have a leisurely walking tour of Shimla while your guide tells you some of its interesting history. You will also visit the Viceregal Lodge. This afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 10
Shimla
Today you have at leisure to enjoy the local sights and explore the town in your own time. You might like to go for a short day walk in the surrounding hills or a trek if you’re feeling adventurous!
Day 11
Shimla-Kalka-Delhi
After a leisurely morning you will travel some portion of the journey on heritage toy train and rest by car to Delhi. Arriving late in the evening you will be met on the platform and transferred to your accommodation.
Day 12
Delhi
This morning you will be met at your hotel and taken to the airport. From here you will fly home or continue to your next destination.
