Detailed Journey

Day 1

Delhi

Arrive into Delhi. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon get bewitched by the legacy and heritage of Mughal Delhi, pulsating with energy and colour.

Day 2

Delhi – Amritsar

Take the train to Amritsar. On arrival explore the JallianwalaBagh (if time permits) and thereafter head for Indo-Pak Wagah border. The closing of gate ceremony in the evening is one of the most spectacular events.

Day 3

Amritsar – Dharamsala

Visit Golden Temple for the morning prayers before leaving for Dharamshala, the headquarters of Tibetan Govt. in exile, headed by the Dalai Lama. Stop on the way to see the ancient Brijeshwar Temple.

Day 4

Dharamsala

Wake up to the chants emanating from the Dalai Lama’s monastery. Later visit Norbulingka Institute, created to preserve Tibetan culture in exile. The entire city looks like mini Tibet.

Day 5

Dharamsala – Manali

Climb the winding roads to reach Manali, drowned in pine forests and gigantic cedars. This mountain town is a ski resort popular with Indians in the winter does not lack in charm.

Day 6

Manali - Jispa - Keylong

Witness a dramatic change in the landscape. Pass through Rohtang pass (3980 m) to reach Keylong, the administrative capital of Lahaul and Spiti. Feel free to stroll around the village and soak in the view.

Day 7

Keylong - Sarchu

Reach Baralacha pass that coonects to the Chandra Valley and Lingty Valley. Spend the night at Camp Sarchu, a grassy plateau at 4500m. It is one of the most endearing sights of the trip.

Day 8

Sarchu – Tsomoriri

A relaxing morning. Leave later for Tsomoriri visitingTsokar Lake en-route. You will also spend some time at Polo Koanga Pass and Sungo Village. On arrival feel free to walk along the Tsomoriri Lake.

Day 9

Tsomoriri -L eh

The Journey to Leh is truly breathtaking; take some time to drink a hot butter tea in one of the roadside stalls. On arrive relax and unwind yourself after a beautiful journey through Himalayas.

Day 10

Leh

Be a part of morning prayers at Thikse Monastery. It is a 12-story structure and a fine example of Ladakhi architecture. Thereafter visit Shey monastery, the royal residence of the past..

Day 11

Leh – Lamayuru - Alchi

Reach Lamayuru after a scenic drive along the Indus Valley. Take time to discover the power of the monastery there and thereafter take the road to Alchi after a detour towards the monastery Rizong.

Day 12

Alchi

Get the experience of life at Alchi, a small town located at the bank of Indus River.It is known for its ancient temples and is located in the heart of the local market. Later we will visit the spellbinding Lamayuru.

Day 13

Alchi – Leh

Head back for Leh this morning, en-route visit the ruins of Basgo and Likir Monasteries. On arrival in Leh, you will be on your on to enjoy a walk in the local bazaars or rest in your hotel or to explore the local life and culture.

Day 14

Leh

Your last day. Roam in the precincts of the majestic Leh Palace. After a hearty sightseeing explore Shanti stupafrom where you will be driven on the highest motorable road in the world to reach Kardung la pass.

Day 15

Leh – Delhi

Head to the airport to catch your flight to Delhi, from where take the plane back to your country. Share your memories of the time and experiences you have had.
