Day 1
Delhi
Explore the labyrinthine Delhi after checking in to your hotel. Arrive Delhi. Lose yourself in the legacy and heritage of Mughal Delhi. Come face to face to with its colonial past. Witness its teeming life, people and market.
Day 2
Delhi
A guided tour of the Old and New Delhi. The day commences with a visit to Jama Masjid after which a rickshaw ride will take you to labyrinthine alleys of ChandniChowk. Later in the day visit Humayun’s tomb, a UNESCO Site.
Day 3
Delhi – Agra - Delhi
A day trip to Agra. Experience the emotions of love, which Tagore had described as the ‘teardrop on the cheek of humanity’ at the TajMahal. Return to Delhi in the evening after visiting a few other architectural masterpieces.
Day 4
Delhi –Leh
Leave early for your flight to Leh. After reaching your hotel use the day to acclimatize yourself to its height. Day at leisure. If you feel relaxed, you can visit Shanti Stupa to enjoy the breathtaking views of the city.
Day 5
Leh
Be a part of morning prayers at Thikse Monastery. It is a 12-story structure and a fine example of Ladakhi architecture. Thereafter visit Shey monastery, the royal residence of the past. Try the taste the Himalayan butter tea.
Day 6
Leh - Zingchen
A short drive to Spituk Bridge, from where you go on a trek along Indus River and reach at the foot of the Stok Mountain. Thereafter, walk in the wilderness to reach Zingchen.Total trek duration of the trek is about 6-7 hours.
Day 7
Zingchen - Rumbak
Leave Zingchen for Rumbak through a straight trail to enter Hemis National Park, one of its famous inhabitants being Snow Leopard. From there take a narrow trail that gradually opens up finally to reach Rumbak camp below Stok La Pass.
Day 8
Rumbak – Skyu
A leisurely trek will take you to Skyu, a quaint and charming hamlet. Spend the evening interacting with a local family who will apart from taking care of you also regale you with his anecdotes from the Himalayan life.
Day 9
Skyu - Chalak
Another day another exciting trek. Confront nature that’s both spectacular and sublime at the same time. Most of the walk is uphill and terminates at Chalak. Spend the night in wondering at the hardy lifestyle of its inhabitants.
Day 10
Chalak-Markha Valley
Leave Chalak for Markha Valley. Another day of an uphill trek. Lose yourself in the splendorous sight of the Himalayas, one of the youngest mountains in the world and imagine how it looked when it was submerged in the sea.
Day 11
Markha Valley - Nimaling
Comparatively an easy trek. Walk downhill to reach the valley formed by Indus and Zanskar Rivers. As the two rivers meet the mighty mountains it presents a visually invigorating sight. Spend the night at Nimaling.
Day 12
Nimaling - Shang Sumdo
Leave for Shang Sumdo and as you walk understand from your local guide about their relationship with the Himalayas. He will tell you their many folktales and glean from them their infinite wisdom. Night in tented accommodation.
Day 13
Shang Sumdo-Uleytokpo
The eventful exhilarating trek ends. Drive to Leh. If you are perky enough you can visit the Stok Palace and Museum on the way. Day at leisure. Unwind yourself in the heady environs of Uleytokpo reminiscing about the hardy yet fun-filled treks.
Day 14
Uleytokpo
Spend the day discovering Likr Monastery, believed to be dating back to the 11th century, and Ridzong Monastery. While returning talk to the nuns at ChulichenNunnery,which is surrounded by apricot forest and understand what keeps them going.
Day 15
Uleytokpo – Lamayuru Via DhaHanu
Start your day with a visit to the majestic Leh Palace. Later explore Shanti Stupa and then hit roads once towards Kardung la Pass, which is the highest motorable road in the world.The thrill, excitement and fear will make for ever-lasting memories.
Day 16
Lamayuru–Kargil
Drive to Kargil. Get mesmerized by the passing landscape. The winding roads clinging to the hills speak of man’s indomitable spirit to conquer nature. Yet the general feeling is of awe and amazement. Head by itself bows in supplication.
Day 17
Kargil – Srinagar
As you drive towards the picturesque Srinagar, on the banks of the Jhelum River, you also witness a drastic change in the landscape. Surrounded by natural beauty you will pass through Zoji La Pass (3547 m) to reach Drass and Sonamarg.
Day 18
Srinagar
A captivating day. Starting with the three Mughal Gardens, Nishat, Shalimar and Chashmashahi it’s nature’s dalliance at its best. The exuberance of colour holds you captivated. Later go for a Shikara ride on Dal Lake and visit the floating gardens.
Day 19
Srinagar
Drive to the infinite meadows of Gulmarg. Besides it is also known for its ski slopes, amongst the best in the world and the world’s highest golf course. You can also take a cable car ride to reach the highest point in the vicinity.
Day 20
Srinagar
Drive through Saffron fields to Pahalgam, better known as the Valley of Shepherds via old part of Srinagar. Visit Awantipura ruins, 1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwarman. Undoubtedly, one of the most scenic journeys.
Day 21
Srinagar – Delhi – Home
The visit comes to an end. It has been an eventful journey where you have visited places that have no parallel. Drive to Srinagar Airport to board your flight for Delhi and thereafter take the onward plane to your country.
