Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival Delhi

Check into your hotel and then jump straight into the journey by exploring Delhi. Immerse yourself in the Mughal history, and learn about its colonial past. Wander through its mystical streets, teeming with lively people, delicious food and bustling markets.

Day 2

Start the day early with perhaps your 1st ever Indian railway experience, as you take the luxury car to Amritsar. On arrival we’ll explore the incredible Harmandir Sahib temple, popularly known as The Golden Temple, and then the Jallianwala Bagh.

Day 3

Enjoy a guided tour of the city before heading to the Wagah border. This contentious divide between India and Pakistan is renown throughout the world for its intense evening parades.

Day 4

Before we leave the city, we highly recommended that you visit the Golden Temple during the morning prayers, which many call a life changing experience. Then we’ll head to Dharamsala, with a stop at the Brijeshwar Temple, which dates back to the 8th century.

Day 5

Dharamsala & McLoed Ganj

We’ll be staying so close to the Dalai Lama’s monastery that you’ll be able to hear the monks chant. It is a deeply spiritual experience. Once you get settled, we’ll visit the Norbulingka Institute, which was created to preserve Tibetan culture during the Chinese takeover of their native land. Despite being in India, most of the town’s inhabitants are Tibetan, and you will get an authentic experience of their culture here.

Day 6

Dharamsala & McLoed Ganj

You’ll have the entirety of the day to explore the city on your own, taking in the many sights, smells and delicious tastes of this ancient and venerable culture. If you’re feeling inclined, you can learn about their sect of Buddhism and perhaps take part in some spiritual rituals.

Day 7

After breakfast we’ll head to the traditional village of Pragpur. It is a fascinating place to simply wander through, exploring the streets, meeting the people, and enjoying the slow pace of life. The hotel gardens are also beautiful and a great spot to relax in.

Day 8

We’ll go on a lovely scenic drive that will take about 5-6 hours to arrive at our destination of Shimla. We’ll make plenty of stops to enjoy the views and take some photos. Upon arrival, you’ll have the rest of the day to yourself. The vistas in Shimla are stunning and hours can pass by just staring at the clouds.

Day 9

Today we’ll take a leisurely walking tour of Shimla. Your guide will tell you about its unique and interesting history. Then we’ll visit the Viceregal Lodge. The afternoon is your own to explore the town or just relax and enjoy the peaceful vibe.

Day 10

Shimla has a lot to offer, and you’ll have another day to enjoy it. You might like to go for a short walk in the surrounding hills or, perhaps even a longer trek if you’re feeling adventurous! The main Bazaar also contains many local delicacies you may not find anywhere else in the world, and is definitely worth a gander.

Day 11

We’ll take an enchanting colonial train to Kalka, and then our driver will pick you up and drive you the rest of the way to Delhi. It’s your last night in India, so enjoy the big city to the fullest with a delicious meal at one of the many incredible restaurants.

Day 12

The journey comes to an end. Reminisce about the many magical moments you experienced over the last two weeks, and look forward to your next trip back to Mother India.
