Upon arriving in Delhi our representative will meet you at the airport and take you straight to the railway station to board the Maharajas’ Express. On the way he will explain basic social etiquette and cultural practices. Dinner will be served on-board in the luxurious comfort of the Maharaja’s Express.
Move on to a guided tour of Jaipur, which starts in the magnificent Amber Fort. Take an elephant ride up its winding pathways. Later on discover the bygone charm of the City Palace and gaze upon the stars in the Astronomical Observatory. Then return to the comfort of the Maharajas’ Express.
Sawai Madhopur& Agra
Arrive in Sawai Madhopur and then be amazed by the exotic wildlife sightings in Ranthambhor National Park. After the safari, we’ll take you back to the train for lunch, after which we’ll leave for FatehpurSikri. End the day with a tour of the deserted, enigmatic Mughal city.
Agra & Gwalior
Arrive in Agra in the morning to bask in the glory of the Taj Mahal and listen to tales of the Mughals at the Red Fort. We’ll get back on the train after and head to Gwalior, a mighty city that has left a deep imprint on Indian culture.
Today we’ll take you to one of the most amazing and peaceful towns of the trip. The quaint, laid back town of Khajuraho, which is home to temples built by the Chandela Dynasty that are renown for their intricate erotic sculptures.
Early morning is one of the best times to observe life along the river. Cruise down the Ganges and observe India’s diverse range of spiritual practices. After we’ll wander through the labyrinthine alleys of the old city, indulging in the scents, sounds and tastes of one of the country’s most colorful cities. In the afternoon we’ll visit the deer park of Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon. In the evening we’ll observe the majestic Aarti Ceremony on the banks of River Ganges.
Onward to Lucknow today. We’ll tour the gorgeous city known for its culture, architecture, musical and dancing traditions. We’ll begin with a group of buildings called The Residency. Then we’ll visit the Bara Imambara, which is one of the grandest buildings of Lucknow. Later we’ll indulge in the famous Awadhi cuisine of the region.
We’ll arrive in Delhi and if time permits, you can take a quick tour of some of the city’s famous monuments. Then it’s time to head home, and reminisce about the many magical moments you experienced over the last week.
