Terms & Conditions
There is no contract between Secrets of India and the client until we have received the payment in accordance with the conditions laid down under payment terms and conditions. The client will have to study, follow and abide by the terms and conditions of Secrets of India and Secrets of India will not be liable for any issues that are covered below.
TOUR PRICE VALIDITY
Unless specified otherwise, any offered price is valid for 15 days from when it offered. If there is significant fluctuation in currency exchange rates, the price will be revised to reflect this.
Airfare is dynamic and is subject to change at the time of issuing.
Free baggage allowance for Economy Class passengers is usually: one 25 kg check-in bag on Air India or one 15 kg check-in bag on budget airlines, in addition to one 7 kg cabin bag. Excess baggage allowances can be purchased at the airport at 7 USD per kg. Prices are governed by the airlines and can change without any prior notice.
In the event of cancellation or withdrawal of any flight, the airline’s liability is limited to the amount of air-fare that has been paid for that flight and is not responsible for re-routing or booking seats on any other airline or for paying the cost of doing so.
DEPOSIT, PAYMENT & ADVANCE POLICY (EXCEPT LUXURY TRAINS)
- On confirmation of the tour, 10% of the total, plus the airfare is to be paid immediately as a deposit/retainer.
- Flight tickets will be 100% non-refundable once issued.
- Full payment of the tour cost must be received at least 55 days prior to the date of arrival.
- Partial advance payment to hotels may be required depending on each hotel’s specific requirements.
- For Christmas, New Year and other peak period dates, the above terms and conditions will not apply.
- A few hotels, like Ananda, Taj Safari Lodges, and Nadesar Palace Varanasi require 100% advance payment for bookings, therefore, the above terms and conditions will not apply.
Payment can be made by:
- Bank transfer – we will provide details.
- Online payment via credit card before arrival, on which a 4.20% surcharge is applicable for processing fees.
- Credit card upon arrival for smaller amounts. A processing charge will also be incurred depending on the specifics of the payment.
In all cases, once a booking has been guaranteed by Secrets of India (under authorization of the clients) and is cancelled, the client is liable to pay for whatever cancellation charges are levied by hotels and other service providers for any particular booking. If services have been pre-paid by us as per the booking conditions of the hotels or any other vendor, there will be no refunds.
Please note that our cancellation policy is mainly in place due to the requirements of the hotels and service providers. In extraordinary situations we will talk to them and do our best to get them to be flexible, and if successful, we will compensate you accordingly. However, we recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance policies to cover you in the case of any unexpected circumstances. The table below lists the general cancellation guidelines.

With regards to the unused/unutilized services (those that are paid for and cancelled in advance), the refund amount will be calculated based on the cancellation policy above. The money will be refunded to the person who made the original payment.
OUR LIABILITIES AND LIMITATIONS
Secrets of India acts in the capacity of an agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways and contractors providing other services. All contracts and tickets, exchange orders and receipts issued by us are subject to the terms and conditions under which these 3rd parties provide their services.
We shall not be held responsible for any delays or alterations in the program or any expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to flight cancellations, natural hazards, breakdown of transport, accidents, breakdown of machinery or equipment, weather issues, illnesses, political closures, or any unforeseen circumstances that may arise.
We shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any persons or property due to issues with accommodation, transportation or any other services, directly or indirectly resulting from fires, accidents, strikes, civil disturbances, wars, customs or medical department regulations, acts of God, or any other conditions beyond our control.
We do not have any insurance policies covering expenses for medical costs, accidents, and any losses due to theft or any other reason. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home countries. Also, all personal property and baggage is the client’s responsibility at all times.
OBTAINING VISA AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Obtaining passports and visas shall be the sole responsibility of the passenger, who hereby agrees not to hold Secrets of India liable under any circumstances involving but not limited to ; visas not applied for, refused and/or delayed documents, and entries to/from any countries visited. The sole responsibility of granting travel documents rests with the relevant national authorities. When you book your trip, express notice will be given to all clients that Secrets of India shall only assist passengers in securing and obtaining necessary travel documents to the best of their ability.
The majority of countries fall into the e-visa category, which is a relatively simple and quick process. Please check to see the visa requirements for your country as soon as you consider booking a trip so that you’re well prepared.
All confirmed bookings are not amendable. Transfer from one tour or service to another will be treated as a cancellation. Relevant cancellation charges will apply and a fresh booking will have to be made.
We strongly recommend that all our clients get travel insurance that covers cancellations, delays, loss of deposits, medical expenses, personal accidents, loss of baggage and personal effects. If a client is fully covered by life, property and medical insurance policies, Secrets of India cannot be held responsible for any claims.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE POLICY
Check in time is 1400 hrs and check out time is 1100 hrs.
Early arrivals are subject to availability. For a guaranteed early check-in, a reservation will need to be made starting from the previous night.
Late checkouts are available on request but are subject to availability and payment.
