Day 1
Delhi
Reaching Delhi our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the railway station for Maharajas’ Express. On the way he will explain you certain basic etiquettes and provide you with an insight to cultural and social practices. Dinner served on-board in comfort of the Maharaja’s Express.
Day 2
Jaipur
Get on to a guided tour of Jaipur, which will start from the magnificent Amber Fort. Take an elephant back ride on its ascending pathway. Later, discover the bygone charm of the City Palace and indulge in some astronomical calculations at Observatory. Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express.
Day 3
Sawai Madhopur& Agra
Indulge in wildlife sightings at Ranthambhor National Park after reaching Sawai Madhopur. After the game drive, a safari canter will take you back to train for lunch on board after which the train leaves for FatehpurSikri. Get down for a tour of the enigmatic deserted Mughal city.
Day 4
Agra & Gwalior
Reach Agra in the morning to discover the romance in the Taj Mahal and listen to the tales of Mughals at the Red Fort. In the later part of the day the train leaves for Gwalior known for its mightyand a city that has left its deep imprint in Indian culture.
Day 5
Khajuraho
Next day takes you to one of the most amazing yet enigmatic laid back town of Khajuraho which has temples known for their erotic sculptures and built by the Chandela Dynasty. Your visit will first take you to Western Group of Temples followed by those called Southern Group.
Day 6
Varanasi
Varanasi or Banaras, is considered to be one of the oldest living cities of the world located on River Ganges. Enjoy in the morning the boat ride that provides you with a panoramic view of the Ghats by the river. Later visit Sarnat hwhere Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma after his enlightenment. In the evening witness the Aarti Ceremony on the banks of River Ganges.
Day 7
Lucknow
The train takes you to Lucknow the next day. Your tour of the city known for its culture, architecture, music and dance begins with a group of buildings called The Residency. Thereafter visit the Bara Imambara, which is among the grandest buildings of Lucknow. Later relish the famous Awadhi cuisine.
Day 8
Delhi
Discover the charm of Delhi’s redolent mornings. De-board the train and if you are inclined and the time permits you can take a quick tour of some of city’s famous monuments. Later reach airport for your flight back home.
