Detailed Journey

Day 1

Colombo - Wadumunnegedara

Meet our representative on your arrival in Colombo. Get driven to your accommodation in the countryside, Horathapola Estate. It is an old planter’s house set in the middle of a coconut plantation, surrounded by paddy fields.

Day 2

Wadumunnegedara - Pallepola

Your day starts with a leisurely breakfast. After which you will be driven to Jim’s Farm. Enjoy the pristine countryside for rest of the day around Jim’s Farm. If you want you can even visit the surrounding villages.

Day 3


Morning at your leisure. Jeep safari in the afternoon to one of the three national parks in the area. The one you visit will depend on that day’s information to increase your chances of encountering the wildlife.

Day 4


In the morning visit Sigiriya Rock accompanied by your chauffeur guide. Admire the views from the top as you are regaled with the stories of the past. While returning visit the 1st century Dambulla caves, known for the statues of Buddha and frescoes. 

Day 5

Pallepola – Polonnaruwa - Passikudah

Leave the Jim’s Farm in the morning and to go to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second capital. This is an ancient city in ruins with both Buddhist and Hindu influences. History of Sri Lanka comes alive here.

Day 6


It is easy to forget the time at Passikudah, a paradise by the sea side, whose waters both azure and green enthrall visitors. To do anything, except to relax and laze around, would seem to be an impossible proposition. Day at leisure.

Day 7


Rejuvenate in the sun kissed beaches which in was thrashed by Tsunami and also bore the brunt of the Civil War. But those are forgotten past, today it is sand and sea that lures.

Day 8

Passikudah – Kandy

Drive to Kandy after breakfast. Kandy has been the capital of Sri Lanka since ancient times. It is located centrally along hills and overlooks a scenic vista of sprawling tea plantation. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 9


Kandy is located centrally along hills and overlooks a scenic vista of sprawling tea plantation. Your sightseeing trip for the day will also take you to the Buddha’s relic at Temple of Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also get to enjoy the traditional dance of the city.

Day 10


The day at leisure. If you are so inclined you can visit Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage and Millennium Elephant Foundation for your lunch. It will also provide you with an opportunity to get close to this majestic animal while understanding its unique nature.

Day 11

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Board the train for an incredibly scenic journey of over 4 hours to Nanuoya and drive from there to Nuwara Eliya. Later in the day visit a tea factory and see first hand how leaves are turned into tea, followed if you so desire by a stimulating brew.

Day 12

Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya renowned for its scenic beauty is a leisurely town best explored on foot. Relish the stunning vista of the Horton Plains. And while you are there utilise your stay to enjoy nature’s bounties and fill your entire being with fresh air.

Day 13

Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

Drive to Colombo known for its beaches and its cosmopolitan character, the city derives much of its vibrancy from its age-old spice trade, which also brought in European colonial powers. For your lunch visit Kitugala where the iconic film ‘The Bridge Over River Kwai’ was shot.

Day 14


As you leave Colombo take your flight back home let your mind fathom what made Sri Lanka such an important trading centre and as a staging post for European trading companies. It surely has been an amazing trip.
