Detailed Journey

Day 1

Arrive Delhi

Reaching Delhi our representative will meet you at the airport to take you to your hotel. On the way he will explain you certain basic etiquettes and provide you with an insight to cultural and social practices which will go a long way in enhancing the joy of your stay in India.

Day 2

Delhi

A guided tour of the Old and the New Delhi. The day commences with a visit to Jama Masjid after which a rickshaw ride will take you to labyrinthine alleys of ChandniChowk. Drive past a few of monuments and later in the day visit Humayun’s tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3

Delhi - Mandawa

Head into the rural Rajasthan to explore the Shekawati region which is famous for its painted havelis in the form called frescoes. Much part of your stay will involve visit to various mansions, which are mostly abandoned but tell the saga of the mercantile spirit of the Marwari traders.

Day 4

Mandawa – Bikaner

The day begins will the tour of the frescoes mansions and apart from the magnificence it will unravel before you the richness of the medieval Indian silk route and the new opportunities that the English brought with them. Later drive to picturesque city of Bikaner.

Day 5

Bikaner

Visit the unassailable fortress, Fort Junagarh. Later feel antiquity come alive in the charming medieval-modern old city. Shop for curios or lose in the unique delight of bargain hunting. Also see the Gajner Lake. Have a relaxing but a gala time in Bikaner.

Day 6

Bikaner - Jaisalmer

Drive to Jaisalmer, one of India’s most majestic cities. After reaching there visit Gadisar lake in the evening. As the day turns to night it affords a picturesque sun slowly setting into the Thar Desert. The view from Vyas Chhatri, your hotel is simply spellbinding.

Day 7

Jaisalmer

Start your day with a guided tour of Jaisalmer Fort (UNESCO Site) exploring the narrow lanes on foot as you reach for the fort. Later visit BadaBagh, Patwon Ki Haveli, and the Jain Temple (UNESCO Site).  In the evening get bewitched by the serene Gadsisarlake.

Day 8

Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Leave Jaisalmer for Jodhpur after a brief stay atOsian desert camp. Jodhpur is another one of India’s stunning cities known for its towering fort, the palace museum and scenic views. Evening you are free to explore the local bazaars of Jodhpur city.

Day 9

Jodhpur

It’s another one of the life’s momentous journeys. Start your day with a visit to magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, which isperched upon a perpendicular bluff and commands a towering view of the city. Thereafter visit the JaswantThada and then take a jeep safari to a Bishnoi village.

Day 10

Jaipur

Continue by road travelling through the scenic Aravalli Hills to Udaipur. En-route visit Ranakpur-renowned for some marvelously carved Jain temples. Reaching Udaipur take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, which is an artificial fresh water lake with which your day also ends.

Day 11

Udaipur

Known for its huge water bodies Udaipur is also known as the city of lakes. Your tour commences with the City Palace overlooking in all its splendour on the bank of Lake Pichola.  After listening to some unique tales by your guide visit beautiful Sahelyonki Bari gardens.

Day 12

Udaipur –Bundi

Drive to Bundi home to the finest of Rajput architecture where you will get on to the tour of Bundi Palace. But before you reach there you will take a slight detour to visit Chittorgarh (UNESCO Site) where a heart rending tale of valor, tenacity and sacrifice awaits you.

Day 13

Bundi - Jaipur

Leave for the pink city of Jaipur. The capital of the state of Rajasthan it has had a hoary past known for its forts, palaces, lakes, cenotaph, astronomical observatory, cuisine and jewellery. A walking trip in its old bazaar is the highlight of the evening.

Day 14

Jaipur

Get on to a guided tour of Jaipur, which will start from the magnificent Amber Fort. Take an elephant back ride if you prefer not to walk on its ascending pathway. Later, discover the bygone charm of the City Palace and indulge in some astronomical calculations at Observatory.

Day 15

Jaipur - Agra

Leave by road for Agra visiting on the way FatepurSikri (a UNESCO Heritage site), an erstwhile capital city planned on a grand scale but abandoned shortly afterwards for lack of water. Come alive to romance in the sunset view of the TajMahal from across the river at MetabBagh.

Day 16

Agra

Enjoy Sunrise visit to the TajMahal built by Shah Jehan for his beloved wife MumtazMahal. Other highpoints of the day include a visit to Red Fort (UNESCO Site),ItimadudDaulah Tomb and acid survivors’ Sheros café.

Day 17

Agra - Delhi

The day you leave India. From Agra take a flight for Delhi from where board your homebound plane. With the stories of valour, sacrifice and industriousnessrunning at the back of your mind you wonder at the layers of hidden meaning India hides within its voluminous folds.
