Day 1

Mumbai – Ahmedabad

Proceed to the domestic terminal after arriving in Mumbai for your flight to Ahmedabad where Secrets of India representative will meet you and while providing you with an outline of the tour help you in the check in formalities.

Day 2

Ahmedabad

A leisurely tour of the architectural splendours of the erstwhile important trading centre (tagged as a UNESCO Heritage City) known for its mosques and temples. The day will also consist of a bazaar visit, Mahatma Gandhi’s ancestral house and Calico Museum.

Day 3

Ahmedabad –Balaram

A four-hour drive north of Ahmedabad (also known as the Manchester of India) will take you far away from the hustle and bustle of the city to idyllic rural retreat of Balaram. The view from the road is scenic and will unfold before you a facet of India that’s still un-spoilt.

Day 4

Balaram

The morning opens your eyes to a lazy sun. Exploring the hinterlands of this landscape will take you to a rural tribal area, north of Balaram. An interaction with the rural-folk in Poshinavillage will give you a chance to discover life in one of India’s least visited areas.

Day 5

Balaram– Dasada

After an eye-popping day atBalaramyou will head west to Dasada on the morrow. En route you visit the Rani Ki Vav in Patan, one of the finest step wells in India. From there you reach Modhera to marvel the Sun Templewhichis followed by a jeep safari.

Day 6

Dasada– Bhuj

Even before the sun is up on the horizon you are seated on a jeep for an early morning safari moving towards the edge of the Little Rann of Kutch, a vast wilderness famous for the Asiatic wild ass in India. Thereafter leave for Bhuj.

Day 7

Bhuj

Experience the emptiness of the landscape. Witness the efflorescence of colour in the otherwise dull vista. Interact with the hardy tribals who not impart life to this dreary piece habitation but are also known for their colourful handicrafts. It’s an opportunity to come alive to them.

Day 8

Bhuj

Your day commences a tour of old and new palaces of Bhuj. WhileRaoLakha’s palace seeks its inspiration from European architectural and designs, RaoPragmali’s new palace, even though is less opulent but still commands awe and is known for its decoration.

Day 9

Bhuj– Gondal

Leave for Gondal, a small town that was once a remarkable capital city. Among the places to see include the interesting Naulakha Museum in the old part of the town forming the part of an old but beautiful riverside palace. It is known for its collection of royal carriages.

Day 10

Gondal – Diu

Drive to Diu, one of the hidden jewels of India. Formerly a Portuguese enclave here Arabian Sea dons enough faces to keep you bewitched for the entire duration of your stay. A stopover at theUperkot Fort is a fine introduction to the place.

Day 11

Diu

It’s definitely one of the finest experiences of India. A potpourri of incredible colonial and local Gujarati architecture, feisty fortifications, a national park known for Asiatic lions in the vicinity and serene vista in Diu you discover a place where often you will feel that the time moves no more.

Day 12

Diu – Mumbai

A leisurely drive to the airstrip late in the morning, a plane ride to Mumbai and onward connection to your home bound flight. It has been an amazing 12 days discovering the facets of the western India. The memory will linger long after you have left the place.
