Detailed Journey
Day 1
Delhi
Reaching Delhi our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the railway station for Palace on Wheels. On the way he will explain you certain basic etiquettes and provide you with an insight to cultural and social practices.
Day 2
Delhi-Jaipur
Get on to a guided tour of Jaipur, which will start from the magnificent Amber Fort. Take an elephant back ride on its ascending pathway. Later, discover the bygone charm of the City Palace and indulge in some astronomical calculations at Observatory.
Day 3
Sawai Madhopur & Chittorgarh
Indulge in wildlife sightings at Ranthambhor National Park after reaching SawaiMadhopur. After lunch on train head for Chittorgarh, a majestic fort-palace complex famous for its tales of valour. Early next morning the Palace on Wheels leaves for Udaipur.
Day 4
Chittorgarh - Udaipur
Known for its huge water bodies Udaipur is also known as the city of lakes. Your tour commences with the City Palace overlooking in all its splendour on the bank of Lake Pichola. After listening to some unique tales by your guide visit Fateh Prakash Hotel, which contains an impressive crystal gallery.
Day 5
Udaipur - Jaisalmer
Start your day with a guided tour of Jaisalmer Fort (UNESCO Site) exploring the narrow lanes on foot as you reach for the fort. Later visit some of city’s famous monuments. After lunch, enjoy an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam and then return for dinner and the cultural programmes at Palace Hotel.
Day 6
Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Start your day with a guided tour of Jaisalmer Fort (UNESCO Site) exploring the narrow lanes on foot as you reach for the fort. Later visit Bada Bagh, Patwon Ki Haveli, and the Jain Temple. In the evening get bewitched by the serene Gadsisar lake and spend rest of the time watching the picturesque setting sun.
Day 7
Jodhpur – Bharatpur & Agra
Early next morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur. Visit Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a famous bird sanctuary and thereafter the train leaves for Agra where you will discover romance in the Taj Mahal and listen to the tales of Mughals at the Red Fort.
Day 8
Agra - Delhi
Discover the charm of Delhi’s redolent mornings. De-board the train at the Safdarjung railway station. If you are inclined and the time permits you can take a quick tour of some of city’s famous monuments. Later reach airport for your flight back home.
